Christmas Eve

After four weeks of preparing during Advent, Christmas is finally here, and I am as excited as ever for the coming of Christ!  This Christmas truly has been one of the most special Christmases for me because of this blog. This Advent we did projects like our looking for signs of Christ this Christmas series, The Journey Towards Discovery series, and our weekly advent posts. This blog provided my family with inspiration this Advent, and gave us the opportunity to deepen our prayer life, and prepare our hearts for the birth of Jesus. Make sure to check out all of our posts from this December for some last minute Christmas Inspiration.

Today I wanted to talk about the craziness of Christmas, and how its meaning has completely changed in recent years. Our society has pressured us that Christmas is all about gifts, Santa Clause, and parties. This has become such a busy and stressful time of year, that everyone forgets what Christmas is truly about, and don't get the chance to enjoy it. Sure, people still attend Christmas mass, but only to keep up appearances. A lot of people who attend Christmas mass, haven't been to church at all during advent, some not since Easter! The pressure needs to be lifted off the holidays, so that people can celebrate the birth of Christ for real! The reason I am writing this is not to sound preachy, or to go on a rant, but to show you the reality of what Christmas has become to inspire change. You have complete control over whether to go Christmas shopping on Sundays or go to church, to go to late night holidays parties and not say your prayers. You have the power to change how you celebrate Christmas, to make a change for the better. It all starts with you. The real question is are you ready to make more room in your life for Christ? I hope you put down the shopping bags, leave the parties, and say YES!

Stay tuned tomorrow for an extra special Christmas post that you won't want to miss!
Merry Christmas
