Waiting, we have been doing it for almost forty days so far this Lent, but what is all this waiting for? Have you been using your time of waiting to grow closer with God?
Today is Palm Sunday, one of the many very important days in the church. We are almost at the end of our waiting, and to the start of our rejoicing. Today starts the most important seven days of Lent- Holy Week. What makes these next seven days special? In the upcoming days we will celebrate the most crucial moments in the life of Jesus. Today celebrates Jesus' return to Jerusalem and then we will spend the next few days preparing for the last Passover meal Jesus shared with the apostles. We hope everyone will attend mass on Holy Thursday celebrating the Last Supper- Jesus' gift of the Eucharist, and also on Good Friday- remembering Jesus' suffering and death on the cross. I am excited to be participating in "The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ" play alongside other members of my youth group on Good Friday. At the end of this week we will celebrate with the holy women and the apostles that Jesus is risen! We shall all rejoice together on Easter Sunday!
This upcoming week is going to be very exciting, but all through it we should be focusing on one thing, How has my waiting helped me further my relationship with God? How can I show my love for all Jesus has done for me this Holy Week? Because this week is so special, we need to be doing more, making more time for God, and start to prepare our hearts for the celebration of Easter. Please join us here at Dwelling With The Spirit this Holy Week for ways to prepare for the resurrection of Jesus.
God Bless,
Theresa
