Enjoy The Feast!

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.  How fortunate are we to be able to enjoy this feast today and whenever we wish!  How often do we take for granted that Jesus waits for us to visit Him?  Perhaps if we left our heart at the Blessed Sacrament with each visit, we would long to return.  Our bodies cannot survive without our hearts, and souls can not survive without being nourished by His Presence.  Grace after grace, let us fill our bodies with His everlasting love.  Moment after moment, let us fall more deeply in love with His tender and merciful love.

Truly Happy

Julie slowly walked into the chapel and knelt in front of the Blessed Sacrament.  She loved her moments here.  No matter what was going on her life, here she felt peace.  Lately, however, Julie had felt an overwhelming sadness in her life.  She discovered that when she was faithful to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit she felt great joy,  but there were times when she felt somewhat isolated from her peers.  She had lost interest in the latest fads and television shows, gossiping seemed pointless, and shopping wasn't as fun as it used to be.  So Julie asked the Lord while praying, "Why is it so hard for me to be happy sometimes?  I love our moments together, but then I look around and wonder if I am missing out on things."
In her heart Julie heard the Lord say, "As long as you have one ear listening to the world, you will never be truly happy."
Julie tried to understand His words, "What do you mean?"
"I have been calling you closer, Julie, and when you draw near to me, you are happy. The world has a way of drowning out my voice.  You will not find the Truth in the ways of the world.  I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  You have to choose your path.  My path and that of the world's diverge in different directions.  You cannot move forward towards Me and still try to listen to the world."
Julie closed her eyes and tried to see both paths, but she couldn't.  She only saw herself walking with the Lord. A smile grew across her face as she opened her eyes and saw the Blessed Sacrament.  "You're right, I can't travel both paths.  I choose You."  As Julie spoke these words, she felt truly happy.

Eyes Wide Open

It is sad that we do not always see what is right before our eyes.
Adore Jesus with your eyes wide open so
His Presence does not go unnoticed.

Wow!

I came across this quote yesterday and couldn't help but be "wowed" by it.  You could spend hour upon hour meditating on the incredible gift Jesus gave us in the Eucharist, and still never even begin to enfold all it's majesty.  As you unwrap layer after layer of love in this incredible gift, one is left completely amazed.  The thought that I belong to Jesus makes me want to just smile and say, "Thank you for loving me so much."  Let's spend some time discovering ourselves in His Light and be completely "wowed" and enlightened.

Desired Habit

Have you ever found that after spending a lot of time with someone, you acquired some of their habits?  Think of someone close to you and how they have influenced you.  Now let me ask you this- How great is your desire to spend time with the Lord?  Is it possible that if each of us spent more time with Jesus, we might start acting more like Him?

Jesus Time

Another beautiful soul will be named a saint this weekend!  As we celebrate with St. Teresa, let us keep in mind these beautiful words of wisdom that she spoke.  Let us imitate her and do our best to spend time with Jesus in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
So many of the saints speak with such love when sharing their experience of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.  Over the next few months, I would like to share some of these quotes with you.  Perhaps if we take the fist steps toward the Blessed Sacrament, others will follow, and together we will all experience peace on earth.  This journey could become the best days of our lives!
